Earlier this week Anthropic turned off subscribers' ability to log into their subscriptions with OpenCode and appeared to issue cease-and-desists to other coding agent projects like Crush. While officially Claude subscriptions were only supposed to be used for the Claude web UI and for Claude Code, unofficially Anthropic seemed to turn a blind eye towards other use cases and frontends like OpenCode. Apparently that's no longer the case.
We'd like to take this moment to reiterate our support for using our open-source coding LLM subscriptions with any frontend or service you want to: whether that's OpenCode, Crush, KiloCode, Octofriend, personal scripts you write to manage your homelab, Simon Willison's LLM CLI, or anything else your heart desires. GLM-4.7 compares very favorably to Claude 4.5 Sonnet, and quite a few people love Kimi K2 Thinking's writing style. We offer much higher rate limits than Anthropic at any price point: our $20/month subscription offers 5x more usage, and our $60/month subscription beats even their $200/month one. If you're looking for an alternative flat-rate monthly subscription that you can use with Crush or OpenCode, we think we have some pretty good options.
We never quantize our models, and we run a battery of tool-call and reasoning-parsing tests against our models to make sure they work well in coding agents using our open-source project Synbad. If you find bugs, report them in our Discord or file a Synbad pull request and we'll fix them!
